The Taraba State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against illicit drug trafficking, seizing more than 1.1 tonnes of cannabis during an intelligence-led operation in Bali Local Government Area.
The operation, conducted on June 13, 2026, in Maihula town, led to the recovery of 70 bags of Cannabis sativa weighing a total of 1,121.5 kilograms, equivalent to approximately 1.12 metric tonnes.
NDLEA operatives also arrested a 45-year-old suspect, identified as Ali Adamu, after the illicit substance was allegedly discovered in his warehouse.
