ASABA — The Ndoshimili Development Union (NDU), the apex socio-cultural body of Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, has raised the alarm over aggressive shoreline erosion threatening communities in the area.
The union warned that Abala-Oshimili and Onyah, which it identified as the worst-hit communities, could be wiped out within a few years if urgent measures are not taken to control erosion and protect their shorelines.
The NDU made the position known in a communiqué issued at the end of its maiden virtual consultative town hall meeting and signed by its President-General, Engr. Ike Onyenokwe, and Secretary-General, Dr. Oke Michael Aziakpono.
