NELFUND: Your Children May Be Collecting Loans Without Telling You, Oyedele Says

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, has suggested that some students may have received funding from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund without informing their parents.
Oyedele made the remark while responding to an audience member who said his three children in school had not received NELFUND funding and that they were unaware of any friends who had benefited from the scheme.
Speaking at a media briefing in Abuja, the minister urged the parent to ask his children whether they had applied for the programme and to request evidence of their applications.
