Nigeria’s women’s beach volleyball team began their campaign at the African Beach Volleyball Championship on a winning note after defeating Lesotho 2-0 in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Nigerians produced a dominant display at Abu Heif Beach, taking the opening set comfortably at 21-8 before overcoming a stronger challenge from Lesotho in the second set, which they won 21-18 to seal victory in straight sets.
The continental championship, which runs until August 22, features 45 teams from 28 African countries, comprising 24 men’s and 21 women’s teams.
