Nigerian inmate escapes prison van in London, sparks major police manhunt

Police in London have launched an intensive search for a Nigerian national, Temitope Segun, after he reportedly escaped from a prison transport vehicle in South East London, prompting a major security operation across several communities.
Authorities said the 25-year-old inmate was last seen near Woolwich High Street at about 6:40 p.m. on Monday. Investigators believe he has links to Plumstead, Abbey Wood and Woolwich, areas where search efforts have been concentrated.
At the time of his escape, Segun was reportedly dressed in a black jacket, black trousers and black trainers.
