Nigeria’s crude oil and condensate production rose to 1.70 million barrels per day in May 2026, surpassing the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ quota of 1.50 million barrels per day, according to the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
The NUPRC’s Crude and Condensate Report 2026, released by the commission on Thursday, showed that average daily production in May stood at 1.70 million barrels per day, made up of 1.53 million barrels per day of crude oil and 0.17 million barrels per day of condensate.
It also indicated that the month’s lowest combined output was 1.51 million barrels per day, while the peak reached 1.86 million barrels per day.
