The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has clarified that there was no fire at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s Terminal 2, explaining that the smoke seen inside the facility was caused by the discharge of its FM-200 fire suppression system.
In an updated statement issued on Sunday, the authority said preliminary investigations ruled out a fire outbreak, adding that officials are now focused on determining why the suppression system was activated.
