The Congress of Northern Democrats (CND) has expressed concern over former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s continued presidential ambitions, saying it could affect opposition cohesion and political renewal in Nigeria.
The group said it believes the opposition should focus more on building unity and presenting solutions to the country’s economic and security challenges ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Musa Adamu, the CND reacted to reports suggesting Atiku may contest the presidency again in 2027.
