The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the most far-reaching reform of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) since the scheme was established in 1973. Briefing State House correspondents after its most recent meeting, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, said the review had been in the works through collaboration between his ministry, the Ministry of Education, the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, and young Nigerians themselves.
