NYSC Warns Corps Members Against Partisan Politics Ahead Of 2027 Elections

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, has cautioned corps members against engaging in partisan politics as Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
He gave the warning on Tuesday during a town hall meeting with 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I corps members at the temporary NYSC orientation camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State.
Nafiu stressed that the credibility and integrity of the NYSC scheme rest on its long-standing tradition of political neutrality, warning that any involvement in partisan activities could undermine public trust in the institution.
