Operatives of the Obalende Division of the Ogun State Police Command have foiled a plot to kidnap a Chinese national.
The syndicate had allegedly planned to demand a ransom of N50 million before the plot was uncovered.
Two suspects, including an insider in the company where the Chinese national works, have been arrested in connection with the plot. The insider allegedly used his position as an interpreter and driver to facilitate the planned abduction.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, identified the suspects as Chinedu Onwuemena, 41, and Jimoh Ojo, 37.
