Ile-Ife (Osun), Aug. 15, 2026 (NAN) — Some octogenarians on Saturday explained why they came out to vote in the ongoing Osun governorship election, saying they were motivated by the desire for good governance and a better future for the state.
The elderly voters, who spoke separately with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) after casting their ballots at different polling units in Ile-Ife, expressed the hope that their votes would count and influence the outcome of the election.
Mrs Moria Aremu, who voted at L.A. Primary School, Ilode 1, Ward 007, Ife East Local Government Area, said she considered it her civic responsibility to participate in the election despite her advanced age.
