The Federal High Court, Osogbo, Osun State, yesterday remanded an Islamic cleric, Jamiu Adegunwa, in the custody of the Zone 11 Police Command over alleged defamatory/cyber stalking statements.
Adegunwa was arraigned on one count charge of cyber stalking and pleaded not guilty.
The Police Prosecutor, Mr. James Famuyini, told the court that the alleged offence took place between July 4 and July 31, 2022, within Osogbo metropolis.
He said Adegunwa allegedly sent verbal and photographic messages through his social media platform, “Al-Madrasatu Wahabiya”, and thereby committed an offence contrary to the law.
