Osun: Police arrest 10 over Modakeke violence, polytechnic invasion

The Osun State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with alleged violent crimes in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government Area, and the reported invasion of the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree.
Four of the suspects were arrested in Modakeke over alleged conspiracy, attempted murder, assault occasioning harm and unlawful possession of prohibited firearms.
The suspects, identified as Olufemi Olatunji, 39; Ajayi Idowu, 31; Akingbala Oluwakemi, 40; and Adekunle Basirat, 40, were arrested by police operatives at about 2am. on August 9, 2026, following a petition submitted to the Commissioner of Police.
