The Oyo State Government has extended by 24 hours the curfew earlier imposed on 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park, citing ongoing security measures in the affected communities.
The extension was approved by Governor Seyi Makinde and announced on Thursday in a memo issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.
According to the statement, the curfew, which runs from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. daily, was initially introduced on June 23, 2026, for 48 hours. With the latest extension, the restriction will now remain in force until Saturday, June 27, 2026.
