Panic gripped residents of Danare in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State today after over 200 Cameroonian soldiers reportedly crossed into the Nigerian border village on patrol.
The troops, according to social media reports, entered the community during heavy rain, moving through residential areas before being confronted by locals. The sudden appearance of armed foreign soldiers sparked fear and confusion, with many residents fleeing their homes.
Videos circulating on social media showed the soldiers patrolling the community.
