Photos: Yusuf, Sanusi unite 1,500 couples in Kano mass wedding

KANO — Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, on Friday officiated the mass wedding of 1,500 couples under the state government’s Mass Wedding Programme.
The ceremony was held shortly after the Friday congregational prayer at the Central Juma’at Mosque in the Emir’s Palace, Kano.
The event brought together 3,000 people, comprising 1,500 brides and 1,500 grooms.
Governor Yusuf served as the Wali (guardian) for the brides, while the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, represented the grooms during the solemnisation of the marriages.
The mass wedding is part of the state government’s initiative aimed at supporting couples and promoting marriage among residents.
