In a bid to stem the tide of growing killings in Mangu, in the central zone of Plateau State, the Joint Security Task Force, code-named Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), has relocated its tactical headquarters to Mangu Local Government Area from Jos, the state capital.
The move, according to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 3 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Williams Maxwell Dangana, was in direct response to recent security breaches in Mangu, especially the violent assault on Bimper village, which resulted in the loss of 24 lives.
