As the nation marks 27th Democracy Day, the academic community of the Federal Polytechnic Ile-Oluji, Ondo State has been charged to shun apathy and divisive politics.
The rector of the institution, Dr Ademola Ebeloku, in a statement yesterday called on the polytechnic community and all Nigerians to be committed to democratic processes to have a better country.
He said the day represented courage, sacrifice and the unwavering determination of Nigerians to choose their own leaders.
He also reminded the community that democracy is not free; it was earned through the resolve of citizens who believed that their votes must count.
