Residents of Tegina District in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State have claimed that more than 30 people have been killed in the renewed communal clashes between Fulani and Kamuku communities, with several others injured and thousands displaced.
The residents alleged that many victims were burnt to death when attackers set houses ablaze during the violence, which they said has intensified since June 24.
Speaking with journalists in Minna, a resident, Alhaji Isah Tanko Tegina, lamented what he described as the failure of the federal, state and local governments, as well as traditional institutions, to stop the recurring violence.
