The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has dismissed reports claiming its withdrawal from the Ekiti State governorship election scheduled for June 20, saying they are false and misleading.
The party, in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Araba Aiyenigba, said its governorship candidate, Amb. Isaac Alade, remained in the race and would participate in the election.
Aiyenigba said that SDP was duly listed on the ballot by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and noted that Alade was among candidates who signed the commission’s peace accord ahead of the poll.
