SEC seeks beneficiaries’ improved awareness for unclaimed dividends, dormant assets

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), says unclaimed dividends and dormant assets represent real money that belongs to families, sitting idle, disconnected from the people it is meant to serve.
The Director-General of SEC, Mr. Emomotimi Agama, said this at the Probate and Unclaimed Monies Awareness and Investor Clinic in Abuja on Thursday.
Agama regretted that for many Nigerian families, the death of a loved one who held shares, dividends, or other investments marked the beginning of a long and often confusing journey.
