Stephen Baldwin Says He Walked Away From Hollywood After Finding Christ

Actor Stephen Baldwin has revealed that he chose faith over fame at the height of his Hollywood career, saying he never aspired to become one of the industry’s biggest stars.
The 60-year-old actor, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning 1995 thriller The Usual Suspects , said he stepped away from Hollywood after experiencing a spiritual transformation in the early 2000s.
Speaking to People , Baldwin said his career was moving in the direction of major stardom, but that lifestyle did not appeal to him.
“I didn’t want to be Tom Cruise and have to make $100 million at the box office,” he said. “I’d rather be a schmuck from Massapequa, New York.”
