President Bola Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow at the death of Senator Anthony Adeniyi, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who died at 75.
In a statement issued on Thursday by Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the president described Adeniyi as a “distinguished statesman and democrat” whose career spanned law, politics and public service.
Adeniyi served as Ekiti State chairman of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), the grassroots movement that campaigned for Tinubu’s 2023 presidential bid. The presidency said his work for SWAGA “mobilised nationwide support” that contributed to the president’s election.
