Troops Neutralise Terrorist, Recover AK-47 Rifle In Sokoto

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have neutralised a suspected terrorist and recovered an AK-47 rifle with ammunition during an encounter in Soruro village, Tangaza general area of Sokoto State.

The operation followed a distress call received by troops of the Forward Operating Base, FOB, Binji over the presence of terrorists in the village.

A military source who spoke on anonymity since he wasn’t authorized to speak said the troops acted on a credible intelligence, responded swiftly to the location and made contact with the terrorists at about 5:00am on Sunday, October 12, 2026, neutralising one of them during the encounter.
