The United Arab Emirates has accused Iran of targeting an oil tanker operated by the state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ADNOC, while the vessel was sailing through the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry condemned what it described as a “hostile Iranian attack” on the tanker, saying a missile struck the vessel but caused no casualties.
The allegation comes amid heightened tensions in the region and growing concerns over the security of commercial shipping through the strategically important waterway.
