The UK government has expanded its Global Talent visa programme to include more than 100 research-focused companies, allowing innovative businesses to recruit leading scientists and engineers from around the world as part of efforts to strengthen Britain’s science and technology sectors.
Announcing the expansion on Thursday, the government said the move would enable eligible commercial research companies to support exceptional international researchers relocating to the UK, particularly those working on funded projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, life sciences, advanced manufacturing and quantum technology.
