Defending champions, Super Falcons of Nigeria booked a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of following a comprehensive 6-2 victory over the Cleopatras of Egypt.
Justine Madugu’s side finished second in Group C behind the Scorchers of Malawi.
Egypt moved the ball around with confidence in the opening minutes, but it was the Super Falcons who took the lead in the 21st minute through Asisat Oshoala.
Oshoala fired the ball home from the penalty spot after the defending champions were awarded a penalty for a handball inside the area.
Substitute, Monday Gift doubled Nigeria’s lead four minutes before the break, with Rinsola Babajide providing the assist.
