The Rivers State government has declared that it is has no outstanding financial obligation to the state chapter of the Nigerian Legion, in respect of donations or pledges made by the state government.
Some members of the Nigerian Legion had alleged the state government and chairmen of the 23 local government areas in the state were yet to fulfill the pledges they made during the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
But the state government, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Sunday night by the head, Information and Public Relations Unit, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Juliana Masi, said it has consistently supported the Nigerian Legion.
