Why do our military aircraft fall off the skies so often?

T he frequency of air crashes involving Nigeria’s military aircraft and helicopters in the last few decades should compel our military authorities to look critically into the causes of these accidents and put an end to then or reduce them drastically. It is so embarrassing for the military and the nation as a whole to lose so many well trained officers and resources to these crashes. What could be the problem? Is it poor maintenance, age of the aircraft or human factor?
