Popular Nigerian television host, Frank Edoho, has revealed why the long-running quiz show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, eventually came to an end.
Speaking on the KK Show, Edoho said the show’s major sponsor, which had supported the programme for about a decade, was forced to withdraw its sponsorship following a substantial fine imposed by the Federal Government.
According to him, the financial burden created by the government’s punitive measure affected the company’s ability to continue funding the programme.
He explained that the sponsor eventually informed the production team that it could no longer continue with the programme because it had to pay an “incredible sum of money”...
