Wire-tapping allegation: Court sets October 26 to rule on El-Rufai’s no-case submission

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned until October 26, 2026, to rule on a no-case submission filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in an alleged phone-tapping case instituted against him by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The judge reserved ruling after hearing arguments from counsel to El-Rufai and the DSS on the application.
Adopting the no-case submission, El-Rufai’s counsel, Paul Erokoro (SAN), urged the court to hold that the prosecution had failed to establish a prima facie case against his client to warrant him entering a defence.
