Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has described insecurity as the greatest threat to the stability and development of Northern Nigeria, stressing that lasting peace and economic progress can only be achieved through sustained efforts to combat terrorism and other forms of criminality.
The governor made the remark in a statewide broadcast on Monday during the launch of the “Unite Against Terror” campaign in Gombe State.
He said the security challenges confronting the North-East and other parts of the region have continued to test the resilience of governments and citizens, warning that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of insecurity.
