Seventy-six commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province, ISWAP, have surrendered to the Nigerian military.
The spokesman for Operation Hadin Kai, Captain Mohammed Goni, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
Goni attributed the surrender to the intensified air and ground offensives against terrorist enclaves in the North-East.
According to him, the terrorists abandoned their camps and surrendered to troops due to sustained military pressure backed by intelligence-led operations.
