AI Race: Google’s Gemini Surges To 1bn Monthly Users

Google’s artificial intelligence assistant, Gemini, has surpassed one billion monthly active users, marking a major milestone in the company’s drive to compete with OpenAI and other technology companies for dominance of the rapidly expanding generative AI market.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai disclosed the milestone, saying the Gemini app had crossed the one-billion-user mark. The figure represents an increase from the 950 million monthly users reported by Google in July and highlights the rapid adoption of AI assistants for work, communication, information search and everyday tasks.
