The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted a major shipment of illicit drugs and expired pharmaceuticals with a combined Duty Paid Value of N12.78 billion, in a coordinated intelligence-led operation carried out in collaboration with the NDLEA.
The Customs Area Controller of the Apapa Command, Emmanuel Oshoba, disclosed that officers, acting on credible intelligence and advanced risk profiling tools, intercepted a 40-foot container numbered CAAU7569127 on Monday, June 15, 2026, at about 12:00 noon, which contained 1.8 tonnes of Cannabis Sativa, popularly known as Canadian Loud.
