Pension: Why we ‘re targeting informal sector- Pencom D-G

The National Pension Commission is targeting Nigeria’s informal sector to secure the participation of the nation’s largest group of workers in the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
The Director-General of Pencom, Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, who spoke at the 2026 National Pension Commission Media Conference in Abuja, yesterday, said that with the informal sector accounting for about 92 percent of the nation’s workforce, it must be included in the pension reform for it to be considered successful.
She spoke on the theme, “From Reform To Reality, Renewed Hope, Pension Security for Nigerians”.
