The Rivers State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly responsible for the killing of two police officers during a stop-and-search operation in the Aluu area of the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, saying the breakthrough followed weeks of intelligence-driven and tactical operations by operatives of the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU), also known as AKU.
According to Kaborlo, the officers were attacked on June 29, 2026, while carrying out a stop-and-search operation within the Aluu Division.
