The Eze Imo Palace in Mbari, Owerri, was filled with gratitude penultimate week as the chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, Eze Emmanuel Okeke, hosted more than 40 widows of deceased traditional rulers from across the state.
The gathering of the Ugoezes centred on the payment of all outstanding funeral entitlements owed by the council. In a gesture described as long overdue relief, each widow received N1 million in burial benefits due to their late husbands. Transport and mobilisation allowances were also provided.
