Tupac Shakur murder trial opens three decades after his death

The trial of a former gang leader accused of orchestrating the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur began on Monday, three decades after the killing of one of America’s most prominent hip-hop stars.
The trial is expected to last about a month, although it may not establish who actually fired the shots that killed the California rapper on September 7, 1996.
Shakur was fatally shot in Las Vegas while he was in the city to watch a boxing match involving Mike Tyson. His death became one of the most high-profile unsolved murders in the United States.
