The United States has outlined eight important steps and opportunities available to immigrants after they become naturalised American citizens.
The guidance, published by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, highlights practical actions new citizens can take, including applying for a US passport, sponsoring eligible family members and registering to vote.

Apply for a US passport
New American citizens can apply for a US passport through the US Department of State. The passport provides official proof of citizenship, alongside the Certificate of Naturalisation.
