WAFCON: Super Falcons coach Madugu speaks after defeat to Cameroon

Super Falcons coach, Justin Madugu, has apologised to Nigerians and accepted responsibility for the team’s 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations .
Nigeria’s defeat ended the Super Falcons’ hopes of securing automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil through the WAFCON semi-finals.
Speaking in an interview circulated on social media, Madugu said his players gave their best but failed to make their opportunities count when it mattered most.
