As Joseph Okwuabudike Ojukwu, MFR, clocks 100 years on September 26, 2026, his life stands as a remarkable record of medicine, public service, family devotion, business responsibility and quiet, enduring leadership.
Born on September 26, 1926, at Akamili, Umudim, Nnewi, Joseph is the eldest child and son of the late Sir Louis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu of Umudim, Nnewi, and Ogbenyeanu Janet Malize of Ukpor.
His early years were shaped partly by Lagos, where the family later resided at 3, Okoya Street, Lagos. He received his early education on Lagos Island before proceeding to King’s College, Lagos, one of the country’s foremost secondary schools.
